The Candidate: At a Glance
Andrew Cline is a father of six children; Abby (2yrs old), Izzy (4yrs. old), Drew (6yrs. old), Elli (8yrs. old), Alex (10yrs. old), and Will (12yrs. old). He is married to Alecia Cline, going on 19 years.
Andrew holds a Bachelors of Education and a Masters of Public Health, both from the University of Kentucky.
Cline is an experienced and accomplished public health professional with a multi-faceted career largely focused on organizational design and leadership, program management, coordination and collaboration, and extensive experiences in
health promotion, protection, and prevention initiatives.
Having taught Anatomy and Physiology at an elite private high school in Lexington KY immediately after finishing his Bachelor's work, Andrew has continued to delve into educational opportunities at the University and Post Graduate levels. As an adult educator, Cline continues to hold a faculty position with Louisiana State University's National Center for Biomedical Research and Training, assisting in the design and delivery of cutting edge adult education for this Nation's Homeland Security Training Consortium.
Over the past decade, Cline has completed federally funded research in the design and integration of state of the art online educational tools utilizing artificial intelligence, and the design of hands on exercises and activities for enhancement of student comprehension.
Andrew has previously served as a liaison of the Governor's Office of Homeland Security with the KY Center for School Safety. He also worked with the National Threat Assessment Center, US Secret Service and the US Dept of Education to bring the Secret Service Safe School Initiative to the Commonwealth.
Cline has been a proactive member the Shelby County school district, volunteering time as a Site Base Council member on multiple occasions, volunteered as an Athletic Trainer for Shelby County and Martha Layne Collins High School sporting events, and has tried to continually be available as chaperone for student outings such as Washington DC leadership trip, Chicago Middle School Science trip, and the annual Kentucky Youth Assembly and United Nations YMCA events held in Frankfort and Louisville.
